How it works

1

Free site assessment

Construction type, asbestos era, access, salvage value, what stays — assessed on site, not guessed from the street.

2

Fixed written quote

Asbestos, permits, disconnections, disposal and site finish itemised. The price quoted is the price paid.

3

Permits & disconnections — lodged day one

Section 29A to council, building permit to the surveyor, power/gas/water abolishments booked. The paperwork phase runs 3–6 weeks; we run it in parallel.

4

Asbestos out, then the machines

Licensed removal first, with clearance and dockets. Then structural demolition — most houses are down in 1–5 days.

5

Clean, level, documented

Footings and slab out, site graded or compacted to spec, and your paperwork file handed over — clearances, dockets, permit completion.

Common questions

How much does it cost to demolish a house?

A typical single-storey 3-bedroom regional home runs $15,000–$25,000 all-in; double-storey or full brick $22,000–$40,000. The big variables are asbestos, construction type and access. See the full cost guide or try the calculator.

Do I need a permit?

Yes — a building permit plus Section 29A council consent for any house demolition, and sometimes a planning permit (heritage overlays). We arrange all of it. The permit check tells you what your job triggers.

What happens with asbestos?

Pre-1990 homes almost always contain it. We survey before quoting, use licensed removalists as stage one, and hand you the disposal dockets and clearance. Read the asbestos guide.

How long does it all take?

4–8 weeks end to end — mostly permits and disconnection lead times. Machines are only on site 3–7 days. The timeline guide has the full breakdown.

Is there money in the old materials?

Often — scrap metal, hardwood and old red bricks return $800–$12,000 on the right house. Salvage is itemised in our quotes, per the salvage guide.
